Hindustan Motors Ltd has recently launched a new variant of Ambassador naming it as Ambassador Encore which will come up with a BS IV complaint 1.5 Litre engine. The car is mainly targeted for the “no-refusal” taxi segment. Anyone looking at the Encore as a replacement taxi will be able to avail reduction in the announced price.
Hindustan Motors Managing Director and CEO, Mr.Uttam Bose stated, “It is a game changing offer from HM which has always accorded highest priority to customer needs ad purchasing power. The company made significant investment in terms of money and man hours to upgrade its BS III 1.5 Litre diesel engine to BS IV standards and OBD2 level. Yet it has chosen not to pass on the expenditure to customers. Through value engineering and cost efficient manufacturing, HM is able to offer Ambassador Encore at an amazingly low price without any compromise on quality”.
Earlier in April 2012, sale of Ambassador was banned from 17 metropolitan cities due to the BS III engine. The Encore with BS IV engine opened back HM to these cities.
Hindustan Motors has priced Ambassador Encore at INR 4, 97,876 (Ex-showroom Kolkata).
