Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd (HMSI) today launched its first compact scooter Activa-i in the Indian automatic scooter market. HMSI till date was present in moto scooter and family scooter segment of the Indian automatic scooter market. With the launch of this new model HMSI has entered the personal compact scooter segment and aims to reinforce market leadership.
HMSI launched Activa-i aimed at daily commute which is light weight, compact, easy to handle, comfortable for both genders etc. Some of the exclusive features of Activa-i which leaves the competition models far behind are the combi brake system which reduces the braking distance by 24% compared to conventional brakes, tubeless tyres, maintenance free battery, viscous air filter, comfortable seating posture, maximum storage space of 18litres etc.
As far as the performance is concerned, Activa-i comes with 109cc 4-Stroke air cooled engine which comes with Honda’s new Honda Eco Technology (HET) which combines improved combustion, reduced friction and optimized transmission leading to a dream mileage of 60Kmpl. Activa-i gives best in class net power of 8bhp @ 7500rpm (5.83Kw) and superb torque output of 8.74Nm @ 5500rpm.
Activa-i is aimed at younger generation. This scooter has stylish indicators, appealing front headlight, chiseled muffler, two tone instrument panel attracts every one and catchy tail light adds to the looks. It has only 103Kg with a ground clearance of 165mm which provide a joyful ride. Activa-i has stunning four colours of beige metallic, pearl sunbeam white, alpha red metallic and purple metallic.
Activa-i comes at an extremely attractive price of INR 44,200 (ex-showroom New Delhi) which is INR 3000 lesser than the current Activa.
