Mahindra is planning to launch the sub four meter car based on Verito on May 2013 naming it Verito Vibe. The Verito Vibe is a hatchback and according to Mahindra officials, it will be a a new product and not a variant of Verito.
"The Verito Vibe marks our entry in the high volume sub 4 metre segment," Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd Chief Executive, Automotive Division Pravin Shah said in a statement. "While developing this product we have paid particular attention to making this car look different and we are sure that it will appeal to customers with its young and sporty looks and that too without compromising the benefits which our existing Verito has to offer," Shah said.
Mahindra was working on this product for quite some time to bring the cut down version of the Verito sedan. Verito Vibe is expected to come with the same 1.5L engine which performs on the Verito and is expected to be priced around INR 5 – 6 Lakhs.
The Verito Vibe comes has its advantage of being a sub- four meter length as it will benefit buyers in terms of excise duty imposed by the Government of India. Vibe is targeted at both high end hatch back buyers and sub four meter entry level sedan buyers.
The Verito Vibe will be a tough competitor to Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Honda Amaze etc.
