Review: Chevrolet Cruze

If you want to drive a powerhouse full of performance, then you can go for the Chevrolet Cruze. It is one of the most powerful engine in its class with excellent refinement levels. Cruze has an aggressive styling, superb driving characteristics which makes it a perfect blend of performance and luxury.

 

Cruze comes with the Chevrolet signature twin pod front grille with gold Chevrolet bowtie and jewel effect samurai-eyed headlamps that adds a striking and bold look. It has a strong muscular design language which makes it more attractive.

 

Chevrolet Cruze has an all new 2.0 Litre (1998cc) VCDi 4-Cylinder engine which produces maximum power of 166PS @ 3800rpm and torque of 380Nm @ 2000rpm. It has an advanced engine management system coupled with high performance variable geometry turbo charged Common Rail Direct Injection (CRDI) system. A 6-Speed manual transmission is available for those who enjoy the stick-shift which lets the driver to be in control. Cruze also has a 6-Speed automatic transmission mated to the 2.0 Litre engine.

 

The body frame integral design gives solidity and stability. Cruze’s stiff body structure is integrated with a gas charged McPherson strut type front suspension, U-shaped rear suspension with torsion beams and gas charged shock absorber ensures a smooth and comfortable ride along with 16-inch alloy wheels.

 

Cruze has a hydraulic power rack and pinion power steering which is tuned for more responsiveness with quick reacting ratio. It has all four wheels equipped with disc brake set-up which provides excellent stopping and stable braking capability.

 

Cruze is equipped with many modern safety features. It has a strong and rigid safety cage which has reinforced pillars with tubular bars which provide optimum protection to the passengers. In addition to that it has dual front airbags and Antilock Braking System (ABS).

 

Chevrolet Cruze has a jet black interiors, integrated centre stack with graphic infotainment display, radio and HVAC controls, three spoke steering wheel, auto dimming inside rear view mirror, 6-way adjustable driving seat, cruise control etc.

 

That’s not all Cruze has lots of equipment to compete with the cars in its class. It also comes with a fuel efficiency of 17.3Kmpl (Manual transmission) as per ARAI certification.

 

Cruze is available in seven colours of velvet red, caviar black, summit white, sand drift grey, diamond white, switchblade silver and atlantis blue. The all mighty Cruze is available in three variants of LT, LTZ and LTZ AT priced at INR 1388299, INR 1506792 and INR 1597151 (Ex-showroom New Delhi) respectively.
