Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Karan Johar, stars Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapur in the lead role.
Bunny (Ranbir Kapoor) is a flirt and loves to live his dreams, who doesn’t even think much of family though he loves his dad played by Farooq Sheikh and hates step mom’s (Tanvi Azmi) advice. Aditi (Kalki) and Avi (Aditya) are his two school friend. They meet their another school friend, Deepika (Naina), who is simple and studious. All go trekking to Manali. There Bunny helps Naina to shed her studious look and finally, as we can guess, she falls in love with Bunny. While Aditi falls in love with her best buddy Avi keeps on drinking and tries to flirt with girls. But things change when Bunny goes abroad to fulfil his dreams.
Will Naina open up on her feelings for Bunny before he leaves to abroad? Will Aditi reveal her love for Avi? Watch the movie to find more.
Music in one word is just “Fantastic”. Though few songs seem forced, music is lovable.
Ranbir Kapoor’s entry is wonderful. He is introduced through our very own dancing diva Madhuri Dixit. Photography is marvelous.
Ranbir’s acting needs no introduction, he is a real charmer. He creates magic by making you tap your feet to his dancing. Kalki has also done a wonderful job, though she has to take some dancing class. Deepika and Aditya are good too. No doubt, Deepika and Ranbir’s chemistry is excellent and you will love to watch them together.
Locations like Manali, Kashmir, Udaipur and foreign locations like Argentina, Paris, France is shown beautifully. The arrangements of marriage were good.
Most importantly, the story is all about friends and family. Karan Johar’s name is there and if there are no friends and family, it is of no use.
Deepika’s entry was not so impressive. The story is quite predictive and there is nothing new or special. Few songs seem to be forced. The role of Ranbir’s parents – Farooq and Tanvi is too short. Rana Daggubati’s entry is not at all justified. Evelyn sharma was just a glam doll in the movie and her acts seemed annoying, especially the way she speaks Hindi.
Few scenes remind you of Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge - Train scene where Naina is introduced to Bunny, Wake Up Sid - Ranbir taking photographs and Love Aaj Kal - Ranbir and Naina’s scenes at marriage.
Verdict: The film definitely makes you love your family and friends. It makes you live your dreams and listen to your heart. Watch it with your “FRIENDS”. It’s a must watch for Ranbir fans.
