Rasgulla Recipe

Rasgulla is one of the most popular Bengali sweets. The name itself makes your mouth watery. It can be had anytime, anywhere.

1L milk
2 cups sugar
3 cups water
½  lemon
¼  tsp of rose essence
½  tsp of maida
  1. Take a heavy bottomed vessel and add milk to it and boil till the milk gets thick. 
  2. Add lime juice to the boiled milk and allow it to get cool so that the milk will curdle and they will get separate.  
  3. Take a white cotton cloth, add the curdled milk into that so that the watery contents and the hardness of milk get separate, the hardness of milk is tightened hard with the same cloth. 
  4. The hardness of the curdled milk with some maida powder will be mixed and smashed to such an extent that will get smoother and softer. Now make small balls of it.
  5. Place another vessel to make sugar syrup, when the sugar syrup starts to boil, add the balls into it. You can also add rose essence into that. 
  6. Allow that for 15mins to get boiled and your Rasgullas are ready.
NOTE: Rasgullas are usually severed at room temperature or colder.
