Navneet Kaur Dhillon wins the title in 50th Femina Miss India 2013

The 50th Femina Miss India 2013 was a star studded event. Navneet Kaur Dhillon was crowned Femina Miss India 2013 on Sunday.  She had also won the title for the most glowing skin earlier. Sobhita Dhulipala was first runner up and Zoya Afroz came second.

The show was judged by filmmaker Karan Johar, film stars - John Abraham, Chitrangda Singh and Asin Thottumkal, choreographer Shiamak Dawar, fashion designer Ritu Kumar and cricketer Yuvraj Singh.

Aftab Shivdasani, Riteish Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi, the Grand Masti cast performed and promoted their movie. Also actresses Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who performed and made her comeback with stunning performance was the speciality of this 50th year of Femina Miss India 2013.  Priyanka Chopra also added glamour to the event.

23 contestants, from different parts of India, who fought for this title were: Akshitaa Agnihotri, Anannya Sarmah, Anukriti Gusain, Anushka Shah, Apurva Lonkar, Archita Sahu, Gail Nicole Da Silva, Lopamudra Raut, Navneet Kaur Dhillon, Manasi Moghe, Panchami Rao, Radhika Sharma, Sagarika Chhetri, Khusboo Vaidya, Saniah Baig, Sanjana D'souza, Sobhita Dhulipala, Srishti Rana, Swati Kain, Vijaya Sharma, Sukanya Bhattacharya, Supriya Aiman and Zoya Afroz. Auditions for this competition were held in Pune, Goa, Indore, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chandigarh and Delhi.

The winner of this title Navneet Kaur Dhillon (20), the daughter of an army officer from Patiala, is a student of Punjab University. Her hobbies include photography, swimming and horse riding.

The question she was asked was: What would be your biggest regret if you died the following day? For which Navneet gracefully replied, “The only thing I would regret would be not having done as much for society as I would like to. Issues of women's empowerment and child labour and other social evils are a big concern.”

For the same question Sobhita Dhulipala, first runner up, replied with Marilyn Monroe quote, “Regrets are stupid so are fears."

And the second runner up said, “I don’t think I have any regrets. I am that kind of a person who learns from mistakes. It has made me the person that I am today.”
