A united dressing room has helped on-field success, says Dhawan

Unity in the Indian dressing room has helped on field success, says dashing opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan. The southpaw who's been in terrific form scored his best, 116 taking India to victory in the last match played against Zimbabwe on Friday.

“Our team is gelling really nicely. All the young boys are very fit and really good in the field. Fielding-wise, we have really improved a lot. I feel like everything is working our way,” Dhawan was quoted as saying to PTI. The Delhi batsman was called to the Indian side after the selection committee dropped senior players Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir.

Since then, Dhawan has been consistently scoring runs in the top order along with Rohit Sharma. The opening partnership gave India a strong base where middle order batsmen could come and bat freely thus helping the team score good totals.

India were winners in Champions Trophy played in England and the subsequent tri-series in West Indies. India are already 2-0 ahead in the current 5-match series against Zimbabwe.
