IPL 6: Madras High Court grants permission for CSK vs DD match at Chepauk stadium

Chennai, May 14: Today, Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) received temporary relief as Madras High court gave permission for the IPL match between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Dare Devils in Chepauk stadium, Chennai. Madras High court today stayed the PWDs withdrawal of stability certificate of the stadium.

A bench comprising of Justice M Venugopal and Justice N Kirubakaran ordered an interim stay hours after Supreme Court ordered to de-seal the stands for the match. TNCA was in great trouble when PWD withdrew the stability certificate for all the nine stands of MA Chidambaram cricket stadium, majority of the tickets for CSK vs DD match were already sold.

The court without going to the details said that whether construction of the three stands were legal or illegal, allows the usage of the stadium as the tickets of today’s match were sold and if people were not allowed to enter, it will create law and order problem.

The TNCA assured the court that the stands will not used without the court’s permission.
