India mark first 5-0 clean sweep abroad

India trashed Zimbabwe by seven-wickets marking a 5-0 clean sweep against them. Indian leg-spinner Amit Mishra’s first 6-wicket haul in the fifth and final match helped visitors get their first 5-0 sweep in a bilateral ODI series abroad.
Mishra took 6 wickets for 48 runs and bagged 18 wickets in this series equaling the record held by Javagal Srinath, who made the record from 7 matches in 2002-03 against New Zealand. An inexperienced Zimbabwe batting line up was nailed by Mishra and the hosts could only manage to score 163 from 39.5 overs.
Masakadza (32) and Williams (51) were the only batsmen who showed some defence to the Indian bowlers. Jaydev Unadkat (6-1-8-1) produced an excellent economy rate of 1.33 which is the best by any bowler in an India-Zimbabwe ODI (minimum 30 balls).
Chasing a modest total, India lost Pujara in the first over, but Shikhar Dhawan (41) and Ajinkya Rahane (50) made a 55-run partnership in the second wicket. After losing Dhawan, Rahane paired with Jadeja (48) and helped India overhaul the target with 96 balls remaining. Amit Mishra was declared man of the match.
