Port of Spain, July 10: India trashed Sri Lanka in a rain–curtailed match by 81 runs and rushed into the finals of tri national series. The 22-year-old pacer, Bhuvneshwar Kumar produced his best bowling figures in this match.
Kumar, who was declared man of the match, took 4 Lankan wickets for 8 runs in six overs. The Lankan batting row were bowled out for 96 runs in 24.4 overs.
India scored 119 for 3 in 29 overs before rain interrupted the match and by Duckworth-Lewis method, the Sri Lankan target was set to 178 runs in 29 overs. Indian bowlers bowled well to achieve a splendid victory under the D-L rule.
Opener Rohit Sharma was the top scorer and his unbeaten 48 runs helped India to reach 119 runs in 29 overs.
