Mohit Sharma, the second Indian to get man of the match on debut ODI

Mohit Sharma became the second Indian cricketer to get man of the match on ODI debut after Sandeep Patil. Sharma’s impressive spell of 2 for 26 from 10 overs helped visitors bowl out hosts for just 144 runs.

Other Indian bowlers also did well with all of them getting wickets. The unbeatable fifties from Rohit Sharma(64) and Suresh Raina(65) eased the pressure of visitors to reach the target with 115 balls to spare. Debutante Cheteshwar Pujara's (13) was the only wicket India lost.

Sandeep Patil is the first Indian who got man of the match award on his debut match in 1980 against Australia in Melbourne; he scored 64 runs and took 1 wicket for 34 runs.
